The Most Wonderful Time of the year has arrived in Tallinn, Estonia.
The official Tallinn Christmas Market
has opened and is as magical as ever. Old Town’s
Medieval streets are lit with festive lights. The smell of Glögi and gingerbread is in the air. Snow has arrived early so the city has white fluffy snow all around. When most people think of Christmas Markets, they think Germany or Switzerland.
I would highly recommend visiting Estonia’s award-winning Christmas market. Literally it looks like a Hallmark Christmas Movie.
The market is located in Old Town Tallinn Square. About a 20 minute drive from the airport, you will not miss it. The Christmas Market tree stands right in the middle of The Old Town Square. Celebrating its anniversary this year, 580 years ago in 1441, the first Christmas tree in Europe was erected in the Tallinn Town Square.
Make sure to purchase some authentic Estonian goods at the Christmas market, Hats, scarfs, mittens, or Christmas ornaments are a few of the handmade crafts sold in the stalls.
Also look out for all the little Christmas trees decked out on the windy cobble stone streets in Old Town.
There are plenty of hotels and places to eat and grab a coffee in a cozy coffee shop all around the area.
Here are a few pictures of our time in Tallinn.
