Visiting the town of Limone Sul Garda

The scenic town of Limone Sul Garda sits on the western shore of Lake Garda, nestled between majestic mountains and the shimmering lake. Thanks to its mild climate, the town is especially known for its lemon groves, which have shaped its charm and history for centuries. We had the pleasure of visiting this picturesque village during the summer—and it truly lived up to its name, Limone.

Why add Limone Sul Garda to your Italy itinerary?

🍋 For the scenery: mountains, lake views, and colorful buildings combine into a breathtaking panorama.

🍋 For the slower pace: Limone feels more tranquil than many of the region’s busier tourist hubs.

🍋 For its unique character: explore historic lemon terraces, stroll the lakefront bike path, and enjoy the perfect mix of outdoor adventure and relaxation.

🍋 For its charm off the beaten path: even within the popular Lake Garda region, Limone offers a more intimate, local feel.

We began our day with a scenic drive around Lake Garda, passing through several charming towns worth a quick stop. Upon arrival in Limone, we were greeted by a beautiful promenade framed by mountains and water—a perfect introduction to the town’s beauty. Take your time wandering the narrow alleys filled with boutique shops and cozy restaurants.

We visited in summer, and while it was undeniably beautiful, it was also quite crowded. For a more relaxed experience, I’d recommend visiting in October, when the weather is still pleasant but the crowds have thinned.

Here are a few photos from our visit to this delightful little town. 🌿✨

Make sure to spend sometime shopping at the cute boutiques

You will find touches of lemons throughout the town.
We stopped to have lunch at Garden L'andrunel Bistro and Pizzeria
Garden L'Andrunel is a restaurant located in the heart of Limone Sul Garda. You will enjoy traditional Italian dishes and gourmet pizzas made with sourdough. We sat outside on the cozy narrow street in the historic center and joyed our dinner.

Limone sul Garda is one of those hidden gems that truly rewards a slower pace. Rather than dazzling with the flashiness of larger resort towns, it captivates with its perfect blend of charm, history, nature, and quiet activity. Whether you stay for a day or linger longer, you’ll leave with the feeling that you’ve discovered somewhere both beautiful and tucked away from the ordinary.

🍋💋 Cheers  from

Limone Sul  Garda
