What to do Once You Get to Saareema
There is a lot to explore on the Island of Saaremaa. Festivals, Windmills, Vikings, Castles & Fortress and much more to see on the Island.  We started our morning off at the Center of the City. We found a really quiet park to take a Saturday stroll to enjoy flowers and birds.
Make sure to check out all the local handcrafted stores. We even found an outdoor festival with beer garden, a market and live music.
Where to stay in Saaremaa?
We booked an Airbnb. We were looking for a modern house with the Old World Charm and this house was
exactly what we were looking for. Cute, Cozy and it had a sauna!

Where to eat?
Did you know Saaremaa has a Windmill you can have lunch in? Since Im kinda obsessed with Windmills we had to stop and have lunch.

What did we order?
I ordered a bread bowl with soup.
Husband ordered a pulled pork sandwich.

We also found a really cozy restaurant on the main street in town.  Castello Resto a pizza and wine restaurant Located on Lossi 11, Kuressaare.
What did we order?
I had the Salmon Soup and Beet salad with Goat Cheese
Husband ordered a Flat bread Pizza

               Next Stop Windmills!
Make sure to stop by the Angla Windmill Park and Culture Center. You will have to drive about 40 minute once you get off the Ferry on Muhu Island. The windmill farm is small with about 5 windmills and a larger Dutch style windmill in the middle.

Make sure to stop by the little honey shop at the first entrance. Its a self service Honey shop. Its actually some of the best honey I've had in Estonia.
*** Cash only so make sure to bring 5.00 Euro.
Castles on Saaremaa
***Kuressaare Episcopal Castle, also known as Kuressaare Castle, is one of the most interesting and best-preserved fortresses in Estonia. While built during the 14th–19th century, the castle became one of the most remarkable buildings in Northern Europe. There is a history museum in the castle that tells stories of the distant past and of the recent history of Saaremaa and its locals through permanent and travelling exhibitions. There are activities for children and adults – from treasure hunts to archery!

We walked the grounds of the Castle and even stopped inside to have a beer. There is a Castle Tavern  where you can have a bite to eat.

Last Stop on the Island
We made a quick stop in Karja Pagar before heading back to the boat. Its a cozy bakery located in Saaremaa.
A sweet way to end our trip to the Island of Saaremaa.
